A 2016 replacement for the previous sherry-finished expression, this Tomatin 12 Year Old has been aged in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks.

Name:  Tomatin 12 Year Old Scotch

ABV: 43%

Cask Finish: Ex Sherry & Ex Bourbon

Color: Amber Gold

Nose: Fruit and spices with green apple, cinnamon, nutmeg and lavender. Pretty green and grassy like being inside a fresh forest.

Palate: honey, Milk Chocolate, oranges, and lemon zest and some caramel and sherry. Very pleasant and mild, not much of a burn, a good amount of sweetness, but not much to the complexity.

Finish: A bit of a let down. Short with sherry, rye, and fresh cut grass. Falls short and does not leave a lasting impression.

Price: Around $29

  1. Bang on review! I have had some 18 year old and 12 today with a nice stogie. The 18 is delicious and the 12 holds it’s own. The 12 is a bang for buck dram.
