My girlfriend and I love this small gem we found through a friends recommendation. Wheated bar and restaurant is located in the heard of Ditmas Park neighborhood. The place is small and quaint but has amazing food and an extraordinary Whisky Library. The Owner David Sheridan is a pleasant, knowledgeable and warm human being. When he’s present at the venue, usually on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, he makes himself more than available to suggest a great dram or dram(s) for the night.

Get a seat at the bar if you can, and the bartenders Scott or the owner David will be able to help you make the best Bourbon, Rye or Scotch selection based on your flavor profile.

My girlfriend and I had this.  It was a new addition to the bar.

Caol Ila 15

Released for the 2014 collection of Special Releases, this edition was distilled in 1998 and matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks for 15 years before being bottled at an intense 60.3% ABV with an outturn of 10,668 bottles.

It comes from the Islay Region

Now usually Caol Ila is very peaty, however, this was not so much. It supposedly an unpeated version but because of the natural cask strength it did present a bit of spicy smokiness.

The nose: Apple, vanilla and some fruity smell as well.

Palate: Smokey, Peaty but not too complex. A little creamy.

Finish: Spicey.
