Brains, beauty, and charm for days, are some of the words used to describe Harper Reigns. We sat down and got to know this business woman, model and social philanthropist.

Harper, please tell us who you are.

HR: I am just a girl who woke up one day and decided to move across the country. With the right people and support system I wake up every day motivated to take on my next challenge. Whether it be modeling, acting, or influencing, I take on every project with passion and determination.

How did you develop an interest in modeling, fashion, and expressing your sexuality through the camera lens?

HR:  I have always been a person super in touch and unashamed with my sexuality. In fact, one of my favorite jobs was as a hostess at a gentlemen’s club. I came from that world and into to the camera by pure happenstance. A friend of mine had wanted to attend a large group modeling event in Jamaica. It was not anything on my radar, but when I decided to attend, I absolutely fell in love with it. When I am modeling, I can express myself in so many ways. It is a median like no other and resonates with every viewer. They say a picture is worth a thousand words for a reason. So, every photo that I take I strive to elicit the most powerful and engaging responses possible.

When looking for a photographer to work with, what do you look for that seals the deal and makes for the best work relationship?

HR: The industry is a lot smaller than you would think. Anyone who has made this their career has either worked with or knows of every serious photographer in the game. When working with someone new I always consult my trusted colleagues and other photographers. Based on references and visual ascetic, I then decide if they were someone I would like to work with. Also, any photographer that goes the extra mile to film BTS and give me quick return edits I usually always work with repeatedly.

Being part of an industry, whose only emphasis is on the outside characteristics of a person, how have you stayed grounded?

HR: It is all in who you surround yourself with. You learn very quickly who is deserving of your time and energy. Never be afraid to distance yourself from those who take from your inner peace or character. My circle is small, and I love it that way. I know without a doubt that if I were to stray away from my moral path those are the real people who will keep me grounded and sane.

What do you like to do in your downtime?

HR: I honestly forget what downtime is! I have always enjoyed simple things though, such as going to the movies or bowling. I appreciate simplicity so much more now that I do not have the time for it.

Do you think there is a lack of honest conversations around sexuality in our society?

HR: 100%. For a culture that constantly exhibits and depicts sexual gratification, it absolutely amazes me how naive and ignorant our society can be. Whether concerning sexual orientation, safety, or consideration people need to wake up and realize the long-term ramifications of being blissfully negligent.

If your best friend could tell us a funny story about you, what would it be?

HR: In my hometown there was a local pub that had free self-serve hot dogs. One night I went on a double date with my friend and instead of partaking in our dates we began having classic girl gossip talk as I devoured 7 hot dogs in the most unladylike fashion. Our companions soon caught the hint and left us while we proceeded to close the bar down and drink/eat them out of hot dogs and tequila. Best date ever.

Three words to describe your philosophy on life:

HR: Unapologetic, Adventurous, Loving.

How important is living a healthy lifestyle to you? Tell us some of your favorite exercises.

HR: I honestly wish it were more of a priority to me. I do not take near as good care of my physical self as I should. I used to play college volleyball and was extremely healthy. I would love to get back into a regimen of healthy eating, proper water consumption, and daily physical activity. When you take care of your body, you take care of your mind.

They say you are what you eat, what are you?

HR: Tequila. I am 100% tequila.

Who or what inspires you? Why?

HR: Dolly Parton. She unapologetically entered a highly stigmatized society and created a culture for acceptance based on character not appearance. Her empire has impacted millions on a global scale beyond the just the music and entertainment industry. Because of her philanthropic ventures she was able to give back to her community in ways that will far supersede even her own lifetime. To me, that is the perfect role model and someone who inspires me daily.

Is there something about you that people are surprised to hear when they find out?

HR: I have two degrees. One in political science and the other in criminal justice. I worked on several congressional campaigns throughout college and at one point even lived on Capitol Hill.

Lastly, tell us about your dream collaboration (brand), who is it and why?

HR: Recently I have been getting into high fashion for my work and it would be an absolutely dream to work with Chanel. I have always admired the classy sophistication of the brand and would love to be a part of that iconic symbol.h
