According to most wine drinkers, wine can easily bring some kind of pleasure not only to your taste buds but also to your sense of sight, as well as your sense of smell. … This is the main reason that people tend to talk about wine; more specifically, it’s why people talk about wine in the manner they do.

Today we spoke to Jackie the personality  behind Instagram’s @blisssbebe about all things that make your wine heart soar.

Jackie let’s kick things off with you telling us about yourself.

JR: Hello! My name is Jackie Roldan and I am a millennial Wine Blogger living in Napa Valley. I graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California and have my B.S. in Business Administration. (concentration in Marketing) One of my favorite passions outside of Marketing is story-telling through writing and designing my favorite makeup and outfit looks! My niece likes to tell people that I’m obsessed with rosé, she’s not wrong.

Your slogan is Best tips on sips and blissful life. On that note, where have been the most magical places for the best food and cocktails, or just a breathtaking view with a nice bottle of wine?

JR: The most magical place I’ve been to for the best food and cocktails was NOBU in Malibu. Happiest with a bottle of Champagne paired with the best seafood and dreamy oceanic views. Another unforgettable experience where I enjoyed a bottle of vino was in Positano overlooking the Italian sunset.

Everyone on the wine journey started somewhere drinking 2 buck chucks. How did you get into wine? And is it true, that sometimes a $10 wine can be better than a $150 bottle of wine.

JR: My wine journey began at the age of 12… well sort of… Growing up in the Napa Valley, I was always surrounded by wine especially with my grandfather and father working in the industry. They would bring home wine (which I didn’t really taste as a kid but it was there. I would gift a bottle to my teachers on occasion) or invite us to the winery for employee family events. My grandparents lived on the Schramsberg property for several years and we would spend Christmas and other holidays there. It wasn’t until my mid 20s where I tasted and enjoyed vino on my own.

I started my wine journey drinking Rombauer Chardonnay in my early twenties while working in Finance in San Francisco. Eventually I tasted through a variety of wines during happy hours in the city and my palette evolved. I believe that sometimes a $10 wine can taste better than a $150 bottle of wine. For example, when studying abroad in Rome, Italy I’d always order the house wine which typically cost under $10 per bottle. It was just too delicious and not overly sweet for a red wine. It all depends on your preference and wine style. I’ve found more successes finding white wines and rosé within the $10-15 price range versus red wines. My sweet spot for a red is typically between $25-45 and gravitate to the $100-150 range for special occasions.

What advice would you give wineries or wine companies looking to use the Instagram social media platform to grow their brands image?

JR: Do it! Instagram is the place most people look at first when they want to visit your winery or purchase from your company. It is so easy to search a business on the gram’ and a huge opportunity for wine companies to grow their brand as well as connect with their target audience. Plus, it’s free to do! The most important benefit of having an Instagram as a winery or wine brand is that you can connect with your followers/customers by engaging with them and keeping an organic connection through educative and creative content. If you’re not doing this yet, it’s never too late to start. For more pointers in creating engaging content and social media strategy visit blisssbebe.com and send me an email for more helpful tips!

Bonus: post content when you feel inspired and engage with your community when you can. Do not ever force it! Remember to take breaks when you need a social reset.

2020 has brought a lot of misery to the world. But what do you think personally the year has taught you and with those lessons what do you plan to do differently in the years to come?

JR: 2020 has taught me that life is too short and to pursue your dreams even when it seems scary: follow your gut and do it. I plan to apply this lesson in the years ahead for each new goal and milestone. Understanding we can achieve whatever we put our mind and heart to followed by the courage of taking action.

What are some of your favorite varietals?

JR: I am a big Cabernet Sauvignon fan, love a good red blend and can never say no to rosé or Riesling.

What makes your heart sing?

JR: Being surrounded by family and loved ones, being at a concert or festival literally singing (or even in the shower let’s be honest the best concerts happen in there), traveling to Europe or foreign destinations, brunch, writing and being at the beach.

Most memorable bottle you’ve had as of late?

JR: A 1970 Château Patour à Pomerol – it was phenomenal. It had herbaceous notes with black tea flavors and still held bright fruit on the palette even after 51 years.
