NEW YORK, NY, January 26, 2018 – Whiskey Roundtable is excited to announce a new event, “A Spirited Lunar New Year with Nikka & Kavalan Whisky.” The event takes place on February 15, 2018 at 7:00 pm at one of New York Chinatown’s oldest Cantonese restaurants, Oriental Garden (14 Elizabeth St, New York, NY 10013) and will feature the award winning whiskies of the Nikka (Japanese Whisky) and Kavalan (Taiwanese Whisky) distilleries.

A discussion of the featured distilleries and of whisky making will be led by Karl duHoffman, Anchor Distilling Company’s Brand Development Manager. Karl will lead the attendees through a tasting of Nikka Coffey Malt, Nikka Taketsuru, Nikka Miyagikyo, Kavalan Concertmaster, Kavalan ex-Bourbon Oak, Kavalan Olorosso Sherry Oak, and a surprise bottle.

In addition to being an informative and enjoyable whisky tasting, the event will spotlight the dishes with lucky meanings during the Lunar New Year. Expect an evening of dumplings, noodles, and of course whisky. The concept behind this event is to conjure the comfortable, familial setting of a traditional Lunar New Year celebration…but with a little more whisky.

This event is geared toward whisky (and Lunar New Year) fans of any experience level, whether they’re taking their first sip, know how to malt their own barley, or are just curious to try something new.

Tickets are available online at http://tinyurl.com/lunarnewyear18
